The Story
Elegantly handcrafted with inspirations from the traditional riding boot and with Goodyear Welted construction, the bestselling Normanton in flawless suede is an excellent example of a work-meets-weekend boot. Its sleek and sophisticated appeal lends to its versatile foundation for every occasion. Paired with your favourite skinny jeans on those cold autumn days, or your best skirt in the summer, this classy boot can be dressed up or down whatever the day.
Constructed with a Vibram sole for superior grip and durability, you’re guaranteed all-day comfort when conquering the great outdoors. Its round toe and elegant frame is crafted with the finest Spanish suede to ensure that the leather moulds to your feet and does not sag at your ankles. Characterised by an outward facing, full length zip and tassel for practicality, and finished off with a hearty buckle at the top, this exquisite boot is endlessly charming. Enhance your outfit with its unique character.
We recommend you go up a size as the frame is handcrafted to be slim and fitted from the ankle upwards. Available in three different calf widths: the Demi, the Regular, and the Magnum.
Goodyear Welted
Invented by Charles Goodyear Jr. in 1869, the Goodyear welt technique is still considered one of the finest methods of shoe construction. The ‘welt’ is a strip of leather which is sewn around the perimeter of the boot’s outsole. Crucially, the stitching attaches the welt to both the insole and the upper of the shoe without piercing the part under the foot. This maximises the shoe’s water resistance and allows you to easily replace the sole, whilst keeping the original upper, after years of reliable service. The Goodyear welting construction also uses cork – a material that is lightweight, insulating, moulds to the shape of the foot, and breathes – to fill the cavity between the insole and the outer sole.
Size Guide
Calf Width
If you have been on one of our stands, you’ll know that we love champagne and how well it pairs with our boots. As such, in naming our calf widths we have taken inspiration from the Demi bottle, for when you are celebrating alone (28cm); the Regular bottle, for date night or special occasion (36cm); and the Magnum bottle, for those family and friends get togethers to celebrate life (42cm).
Care & Repair
Whilst every mark on your VVS boots tells a story, caring for your boots is still important, so that when they’re perfectly moulded to your feet, they are still in great condition.
Boot Care
Suede boots can generally be cleaned by lightly rubbing them with a damp, lint-free cloth or specialist suede brush. Straight motions in different directions are advised to help remove dirt and salt without pushing them deeper into the fibres.
Unlike leather, suede can be easily ruined by water, which causes stains on its surface that are generally irreparable. Use a waterproofing spray after cleaning your boots to allow them to retain their water resistance. It is important to do this frequently to prevent stains, resist scratches, and keep the suede supple.
